01 / WHY DRA

Keep signaling complexity from slowing service growth.

As Diameter peers multiply, point-to-point connections spread routing rules and failure handling across the network. Pi DRA provides a central place to manage those rules, introduce peers and control traffic across vendors.

    Network peers

MME, HSS, PGW, IMS and other Diameter nodes

  2. 02

    Pi DRA / DEA

Routing rules, traffic control and network edge protection

  3. 03

    Destinations

Policy, charging, subscriber services and roaming partners

02 / WHAT YOU CAN DO

DRA capabilities

01

Route with context

Configure Diameter message routing, filtering and transformation with host, realm, application and AVP-based rules.

02

Balance and recover

Distribute traffic using priorities and weights. Reroute on connection failures and timeouts.

03

Keep sessions consistent

Use subscriber and session binding for policy and charging scenarios that require related requests to reach the appropriate service node.

04

Protect the network edge

Use DEA capabilities for topology hiding and roaming traffic routing. Apply signaling protection and overload control at network boundaries.

03 / BUILT TO BE OPERATED

Deployment and operations

Centralized configuration

Manage routing rules and peer connections across equipment vendors in one place.

Signaling observability

Export traffic metrics and events to monitoring systems to track routing behavior and abnormal conditions.

Deployment around your topology

Plan availability, capacity and geo-redundancy for the actual network. Validate interfaces and policy/charging requirements during a scoped pilot.

04 / A CLOSER LOOK

Questions about DRA

What should be validated in a DRA pilot?

Agree the target peers, routing policies, traffic profile and acceptance criteria. Exercise connection failures and overload scenarios, and review monitoring and recovery behavior against your operational requirements.

What is the difference between DRA and DEA?

DRA handles Diameter routing within a network. A Diameter Edge Agent applies related capabilities at the boundary with other networks, including roaming routing and topology hiding.

Can Pi DRA operate in a multi-vendor network?

Pi DRA is designed for vendor-independent routing and configurable Diameter message processing. The required peers, interfaces and routing policies are validated against the target network during integration.

From product to deployed solution.

Tadam assesses your requirements, integrates Pi DRA with your systems and prepares the solution for production. We support its integrations and configuration, with 8×5 or 24/7 coverage by agreement.
